Join us for the 14th annual Officer Shawn Silvera Rotary Run as part of the 2019 Blue Heron Days. This event includes a certified, chip-timed 5K run with a Public Safety Challenge competition. This year we are also introducing the NEW hot dog mile with a High School Challenge competition. This fun run is for those who want to run, walk, blade or stroll, perhaps even with a furry companion. Pre-registered participants get a hot dog and a custom bandana.
Whether this is your 1st, 10th or 100th race, please join us to help honor Shawn’s memory, celebrate his legacy, and pay tribute to our community.
Event proceeds benefit the MN Law Enforcement Explorers Scholarship Fund, MN Concerns of Police Survivors and Centennial High School STRIVE Scholarship.

Pre-registration is available online until August 15.
Race day registration is available on-site for all events.
Race-day registration: $30
Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative performance t-shirt. Race day registrants may receive a shirt from a previous year, based on availability.
5K Public Safety Team Challenge:
2019 marks the 12th year of the Public Safety Challenge, a team competition as part of the 5K race. The first place trophy is awarded for both the professional and student teams. The trophy currently resides with the 2018 champions from Lino Lakes.
To participate: form your team, register for “5K Public Safety Challenge”, and enter your team name on the registration site. Team names should appear as: PSC (City) (Dept)
Examples: PSC Lino Lakes PD or PSC Centennial Fire or PSC Coon Rapids Explorers

Hot Dog Mile:
Pre-registration and race-day registration: $15
Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative bandana and a hot dog. Additional bandanas will be available for purchase for $8.
Hot Dog Mile High School Challenge Competition:
The High School Challenge is returning again this year, now as part of the Hot Dog Mile. High school students, incoming freshmen, and the graduating class of 2019 are invited to create a team and enter an open team challenge. Teams do not need to be affiliated with any school teams or groups. All you need is 3-5 team members and a name!
To participate: register for the Hot Dog Mile, and on race morning register your team onsite. The Hot Dog Mile is a fun run and not a formally timed event, so teams will need to cross the finish line together.
The reigning champions of the 2018 High School Challenge competition are from the Centennial High School Football team.
