Join us for the 13th anniversary of the Officer Shawn Silvera Rotary Run as part of the 2018 Blue Heron Days.  This event includes a certified, chip-timed 5K run with a Public Safety Challenge competition.  We are also pleased to continue the tradition of the “Daisy Dash” Family 2K. This event is for those who want to participate by walking, running or rolling; but are interested in something shorter than a 5K.  The YMCA will also host a Splash and Dash (swim and run) for kids ages 5-12.  Whether this is your 1st, 10th or 100th race, please join us to help honor Shawn’s memory, celebrate his legacy, and pay tribute to our community.

Event proceeds benefit the MN Law Enforcement Explorers Scholarship Fund, MN Concerns of Police Survivors and Centennial High School STRIVE Scholarship.

Sponsored by the Chain of Lakes Rotarians, SMW Financial Credit Union, and the City of Lino Lakes Parks & Recreation Department.

Race Details
5K
The 5K run is a certified, chip-timed, trail-based loop course that begins at the pavilion in the park outside the Lino Lakes YMCA, and ends on the trail behind the YMCA.  The top 3 males and females from each age group are recognized.

Daisy Dash Family 2K
The Daisy Dash Family 2K is a fun run (or walk, or toddle, or roll), non-timed, trail-based loop that begins and ends on the trail behind the YMCA.  This is designed for those who want to participate in the Officer Shawn Silvera Rotary Run, but want an option shorter than the 5K.

The name “Daisy Dash” is symbolic and significant, as it honors Shawn’s love for his wife and family.  On the 12th of each month, Shawn brought Jennifer daisies to celebrate their wedding day.

YMCA Splash and Dash Duathlon Details
The Splash and Dash is a timed swim and run event that will take place at the YMCA (with the run on the county trail system). The top 3 will be awarded and all pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt.

Public Safety Team Challenge:
