The original 5.6k Challenge: The race that started it all! The first 1⁄4 mile takes you along the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail before you dive off-road. You then loop back onto the Singing Hills trail finishing your run with views of Sakatah Lake off to your right. This is a timed event.

The alternative 5k: When off road running is not for you, this is an easier more leisurely option. The alternative 5k is an out and back on the paved Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail through the beautiful Sakatah old growth forest. This event IS NOT timed.

The 10.5k follows the road around Lake Sakatah. Just before the 4th mile the 10.5k goes off road for a 1⁄4 mile before connecting you with the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail and dive deep into the heart of the park finishing the last leg of your run surrounded by the beautiful green forest. This is a timed event.

The 11.6 mile bike ride follows the road around Lake Sakatah then continues east up a long steady hill for the first 7 miles. Before looping back and connecting with the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail. Helmets are required to ride in this event. This is not a race, official times will be given.

Join us June 22, 2019 as Wayzata Free Church hosts a citywide 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run. All funds raised from this event will benefit MN Law Enforcement Memorial Association (LEMA).

LEMA provides assistance to the law enforcement community and others and to surviving family members of peace officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. As a church we want to serve alongside our community and generously give back to our police officers who selflessly serve us. Our goal is to raise $25,000 on behalf of LEMA.

The Serve 5K Run/Walk is chip timed and all paid participants (who register by June 1) are guaranteed an official race t-shirt. This event also features a Kids Fun Run. Kids (7 and younger) have the opportunity to run alongside local law enforcement officers and receive a participation prize.

Not local but still want to join in the fun? We have a virtual option for you as well. Simply register for the VIRTUAL 5K Run/Walk and we will send your race t-shirt and bib in the mail (continental US only). You can join us on June 22 (or anytime it works for you) right where you live! Share your experience with us by posting pictures on social media using #wayzatafree #serve5K (Note: Registration for the virtual 5K closes on June 1.)

Strollers are welcome; NO in-line skates or dogs will be permitted. Race is run rain or shine. Cancelled only for extreme weather.
