The Run features scenic 5K & 10K race course plus a half-mile FUN RUN for children and families. All runners and rollers will receive a Run/Roll T-shirt and a rose.

Labor Against Cancer is a movement to end the devastation of cancer, led by the passionate members of the United Food and Commercial Workers. The movement provides and opportunity for all organized labor to do what they do best, empower their membership to band together for the good of others in the communities where they work and live.

Labor Against Cancer will raise much needed funds to advance research and patient support in partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society while raising awareness of the important role that union members play each and every day.

The UFCW represents 1.3 million members and has been a powerful voice for LLS since the partnership began in 1982. The organization has raised $86 million for LLS’s goal to find cures and ensure blood cancer patients have access to lifesaving treatments.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LSS) is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LSS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma , and improve the quality of life of patients and their familes. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

The Minnesota Reggae Family Fun Run is part of the Minnesota International Sports and Reggae Festival June 24-30, 2019.  The Festival aimed at strengthening the bonds between Minnesota and Jamaica and a means to raise needed financial support for infrastructure development at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica.  The infrastructure development is needed to support the efforts of Healthcare professionals for Minnesota doing outreach to rehabilitation medicine (Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare), Pediatric Oncology (Hospitals and Clinic of Minnesota), and Infection Control (Hennepin County Medical Center/University of Minnesota Health).

This race offers a fast, shaded, USATF certified course that starts and finishes near downtown at the Brookings County Courthouse, snakes through downtown and residential Brookings, including passes near Pioneer Park’s Summer Arts Festival, the children’s museum, and through Hillcrest Park. The course is well marked with very light traffic.

Entry fee includes a t-shirt, entry for door prizes, age group medals to the top three, and a Beef & Eggs breakfast! Run for Beef & Eggs offers over $1,200 in cash prizes for the top three males and females in hopes of bringing the best competition from around the area.

The race also encourages novice runners and walkers to come out and enjoy the morning while getting fit and, of course, some breakfast!

The 2019 Minnesota Senior Games will be held in Greater St. Cloud on August 1st - 4th. The Senior Games are for athletes ages 50 and better, and there are many different sports and events to choose from.

The 2019 Games will be a great year to start improving your skills for the 2020 MN Senior Games in St. Cloud which will be a qualifying year for the National Senior Games in 2021.

Packet Pickup

Registration and packet pick-up will be open from Thursday - Saturday 7am- 4pm and Sunday 7am-10am at the Whitney Rec Center in St. Cloud. All participants must check-in prior to arriving at their specific sporting event for competition. You will get the information you need and t-shirts at the packet pick-up.

Participants should be at their event venue 15 minutes prior to the starting time. Participants are allowed and encouraged to enter more than one event, but do so at their own risk as schedule changes cannot be made to accommodate sports that occur simultaneously. Please plan accordingly.

There will be no day-of registration. Registration needs to done online by July 26, 2019 or postmarked July 26, 2019 to be accepted. The registration fee includes up to five events. There will be an additional $5 fee per sport for competing in more than five events.

Swimming to Madeline Island has been a storied feat around the Bayfield area for decades. Starting as a community swim for 24 people in 2006, the Point to La Pointe has grown into a thriving race that sells out annually at 500 swimmers. The course is a straight 2.1 mile swim on Lake Superior from Bayfield to Madeline Island. The course follows the same route of the winter ice road, starting at the beach at the end of Washington Ave in Bayfield. It is approximately parallel to the route of the Madeline Island Ferry, finishing about 3/4 mile north of the ferry dock.  Swimmers have encountered all of Lake Superior's moods over the years, from calm, flat water to strong crosswinds with 2 foot waves. This event is registered with and approved by the US Coast Guard.

The Little Canada Canadian Days 5K Run/Walk has been a family-friendly part of our community festival for over 30 years.  Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are welcome at this event. The course starts and ends at Pioneer Park on Desoto Street. The mid-section of the race runs along the north side of Gervais Lake.  Participants receive a T-shirt and a pancake breakfast at Spooner Park following the race. The purpose of the MN 811 Walk/Run is to promote safe digging and awareness for 811. It provides stakeholders with the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with firefighters to educate the public on safe digging. All proceeds from the run are donated to Twin Cities Firefighters Operation Warm, a great non-profit organization that provides warm winter coats for children in Minnesota.

Come for the challenge, stay for the friendships!  The Red Ribbon Ride 2019 is a fully supported 3 day, 200 mile bicycle ride from Minneapolis to Duluth, to raise vital funds for HIV/AIDS services, treatment, prevention and awareness. This year's Ride will be held on August 16 - 18, 2019, traveling from Minneapolis to Forest Lake, Camp One Heartland Center, and ending in Duluth. 

The Red Ribbon Ride benefits 5 HIV/AIDS service agencies here in Minnesota; African American AIDS Task Force, Hope House of St. Croix Valley, One Heartland, Rural AIDS Action Network and The Aliveness Project.

Whether you are first time participant, experienced veteran, looking for a physical challenge, cycling through Minnesota or have a connection to the cause the Red Ribbon Ride is for you.

The event will start at the Mall of America and will ride up to Forest Lake to end Day 1, Camp Heartland in Willow River, MN to end day 2, and the final destination will be Duluth on Day 3.

The race kicks off the 47th Annual Watermelon Day in Vining, the "Biggest Small Town Celebration in Otter Tail County." The race begins and concludes at the intersection of State Highway 210 and 457th Avenue. The course is all asphalt, with the entire race course meandering through the scenic countryside. The race is supported by water drink stations throughout the course at the 1.0; 2.5; 5 kilometer markers and at the finish line. There is ample space for parking and portable toilets are available.

Join us for the 14th annual Officer Shawn Silvera Rotary Run as part of the 2019 Blue Heron Days.  This event includes a certified, chip-timed 5K run with a Public Safety Challenge competition.  This year we are also introducing the NEW hot dog mile with a High School Challenge competition.  This fun run is for those who want to run, walk, blade or stroll, perhaps even with a furry companion. Pre-registered participants get a hot dog and a custom bandana.

5K Public Safety Team Challenge:
2019 marks the 12th year of the Public Safety Challenge, a team competition as part of the 5K race. The first place trophy is awarded for both the professional and student teams. The trophy currently resides with the 2018 champions from Lino Lakes. 

To participate: form your team, register for “5K Public Safety Challenge”, and enter your team name on the registration site.  Team names should appear as: PSC (City) (Dept)

Hot Dog Mile:

Pre-registration and race-day registration: $15

Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative bandana and a hot dog.  Additional bandanas will be available for purchase for $8. 

Hot Dog Mile High School Challenge Competition:
The High School Challenge is returning again this year, now as part of the Hot Dog Mile.  High school students, incoming freshmen, and the graduating class of 2019 are invited to create a team and enter an open team challenge.  Teams do not need to be affiliated with any school teams or groups.  All you need is 3-5 team members and a name!  

To participate: register for the Hot Dog Mile, and on race morning register your team onsite.  The Hot Dog Mile is a fun run and not a formally timed event, so teams will need to cross the finish line together.

The reigning champions of the 2018 High School Challenge competition are from the Centennial High School Football team.

(“Rebound”), a community-based 501c3 nonprofit, in North Minneapolis, focuses on regaining possession of the life trajectory of African American youth and partnering with the community to address the over-representation of black youth in the juvenile justice system. Rebound strives to lead the way in the innovation and provision of holistic, community centered, education, advocacy, and rehabilitation solutions. 

 

Rebound Inc. is hosting its very first “Unlocking Hope” 5k Walk/Run in celebration of their 5-year anniversary. All Proceeds from the 5k will go to the organization’s general operating costs. Our goal is to raise $50,000. This will help the organization on our path towards gaining stability and longevity, which will in turn create more resources for our youth and communities.

Professionally timed by Anderson Race Management, the race raises awareness and funds to combat the realities of this modern day injustice in specific ways. PurpleRideStride Minnesota 2019 is a family friendly bike ride, walk and run to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer awareness. Activities include a 30 and 8 mile bike ride, 5K run and 1 mile walk. Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related death in the US with a survival rate of only 9%.

Round up your friends and take on the new course for the MN Run Relay!  This 26.2 mile relay run takes place at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park which is just a 20 minute drive from Minneapolis. Team size will be 2 to 5 people. Each leg will be 5.24 miles with a certified marathon distance. Each leg will cross over Coon Rapids Dam.

For the endurance runners out there there is also the option to take on the certified 20 mile and 26.2 mile routes.

What is the Valor 5K Challenge?

The 5K Challenge has a rich history of celebrating Christian education and building community. This race was started in 2011 by Avail Academy with the goal of raising awareness about Christian education in the twin cities. The 5K Challenge gives the Avail Academy community of friends, alumni, parents, staff and students a chance to come together to celebrate their amazing mission. All money raised from the event supports Avail Academy.

 

The race is a 5K course around Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis. Registering to run or walk is totally free! We want to see as many runners and walkers as possible come out and participate in our unique event. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution during the registration process to help ensure the vibrant future of Avail Academy.

Parking:

A pay lot is located northeast of the Bandshell. (The pay lot to the west of the Bandshell will be unavailable.) On-street parking is available all the way around the Lake. An additional pay lot is located on Roseway Road on the East side of the Lake (near the Rose Garden). Note that Lake Harriet Parkway is a one-way street directed counterclockwise around the lake, so plan your driving accordingly.

All pre-registered participants will receive an official "Valor 5K Challenge" t-shirt with registration. We cannot guarantee that t-shirts will be available for registrations after Tuesday, September 17th, so please register in advance.

FAQ:

Will this race be chip-timed? 
We’d love to provide that level of accuracy, but our permit with the Park and Rec Board does not allow for chip timing. We will have a clock at the finish line, though there will be a little give and take, based on when you pass the starting line. This is a fun run and is not USATF certified. If you’re timing yourself with a GPS-based phone or watch, there may be slight variability in the final distance.

That’s a lot of people to have running on one path. What can the runners and walkers do to alleviate the congestion? 
So true, and thanks for asking! J Participants will be encouraged to start in corrals, according to their anticipated finish times. This year, we’re starting in the parking lot to avoid congestion on the trail at the start. While you’re running or walking, keep your eyes up to watch for folks you may meet who are not part of the race. And in the spirit of fun and community-building, keep the safety of all on the trail as a top priority!

I want to walk in the 5K, but I also want to watch my kids pass the finish line. How can I do both? 
If you’d prefer to be at the finish line, you may delay your starting time for the walk until after the runners are finished. You’ll still register as a walker and receive a shirt, but your time won’t be recorded according to the race clock.

Can I run while pushing my child(ren) in a stroller? And if so, do I need to pay extra? 
You certainly can. And there is no additional charge for your additional workout. We recommend that you start near the back of the pack to avoid contact with the ambitious runners at the front, just to be safe.

What is included in the post-race programming? 
Awards, food, a bouncy house, games for kids, a 50 yard dash for kiddos, more food, and loads of fun and community!

May I wear headphones while I run? 
Headphones are permitted in the race, but we will be sharing the course with the general public. Please be respectful, since we are the school’s ambassadors. (And we think you’ll have a more enjoyable race listening to the kids running near you!)

Will there be a bag check at registration? 
Unfortunately, no.

The Warrior Waddle is a 5k (3.1 miles) run or walk that is put on by the Winona State Track and Field team. All the proceeds made from the race will be used to fund scholarships for the athletes on the team. It is a great way to get both the community and athletes an opportunity to give back. The 5k race is held on Winona State University’s homecoming morning. The course will be around the big lake in Winona.

This year marks our 9th year running!  The Scenic Byway River Run offers a variety of events; Half Marathon, 2-person Relay Half Marathon, 5K, Kids Fun Run and Bike “Tour de Brew” that follows the half marathon course. This year’s race will be on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 and all events will begin and finish at Court Square Park, home of the Historic Two-Story Outhouse!  Enjoy the scenic river bottoms of the Minnesota River as you run or bike along the Half Marathon course. It’s a challenging, hilly course, but worth the hurt!  Our half and 5k races are chip timed and USTAF certified.

Come take a ride! This bike tour will follow the same route as our Scenic Byway Half Marathon. Ride the beautiful rolling hills to Blakeley the home of u4ic Brewery. Then follow the course back to Belle Plaine where you can sample some of the Breweries finest beer and root beer. The price of this bike tour includes a shirt.

Kids Fun Run – 8:45 AM Start Time

The Kids Fun Run is a great opportunity for children to join in the fun. The kids will run down the block and back approximately 1/2 mile starting at the official start. Parents are welcome to run with their son or daughter. Participants receive a medal & tee shirt.

Half Marathon – 9:00 AM Start Time

This race is chip timed and USATF certified. Our Half Marathon starts at Court Square Park. It follows around the block and through beautiful downtown Belle Plaine before heading north across the Minnesota River. Our volunteers will be there to cheer you on! The course then takes you along Minnesota’s Scenic Byway with rolling hills, eagle sightings and stunning countryside views. Half marathoners will then run back through the historic Avenue of the Trees towards Blakeley, home of U4ic Brewery. Then a gradual climb takes you back to the finish line.

Make sure to pay attention to the water stops throughout the course. Local clubs compete for the best stop and runners vote at the end of the race. We give out over $600.00 in prizes last year to the winners.

The course will have volunteers, Ham Radio operators, and members of the Belle Plaine Police & Fire Departments, as well as some directional arrows to help guide runners through the race route. Be sure to pay attention to all course signs. Participants receive a medal, tee shirt & a drink token.

Half Marathon 2-Person Relay – 9:00 AM Start Time

We will be once again, offering a 2-person relay to our runners.  Runners are responsible for their own transportation to and from the half way exchange point.  Please note, the 1st runner will run a bit longer than half of the 13.1 miles, due to safety of the runners and having a safe exchange point.  The exchange will take place near Mile Marker 8 and Water Stop 4.  Space is limited to 50 teams. Participants receive a medal, tee shirt & a drink token.

5K Run – 9:20 AM Start Time

This race is chip timed and USATF certified. Our 5K begins at Court Square Park and leads you on a fun route through Belle Plaine. It is lined with our very best volunteers who will cheer you on with all they have! Participants receive a tee shirt.

Walk-up Registration & Packet Pick-up

Available  4 – 7:00 PM 10/11/19 at Oakcrest Elementary School, 1101 W Commerce Dr. Belle Plaine. Be sure to come hungry as our High School Cross Country team will be offering a spaghetti dinner!  Check in race day begins at 7:00 AM at Court Square Park.
