Break the Bank - Climb 4 Kidney Cancer is a celebration for those whose lives have been affected by Kidney Cancer. It is also a professionally managed event with a chip-timed race early in the morning, and a non-competitive fun climb. Children under the age of 10 are welcome to climb with adult supervision, but are not allowed in the race portion of the climb.
Everyone is welcome. If you're a serious racer or athlete, the timed race through 6054 stairs will challenge you (3027 up and 3027 down). If you just want to have fun, come climb as many or as few stairs as you please. The lower bowl has half stairs and handrails and at anytime you can stop out of the course and walk over to the elevator to the Club Room. Be sure to pop some kidney cancer cells, (balloons).
Which Climb will you choose?
The Piggy Bank - Climb the lower bowl! Smaller steps. Great for Kids, families and those that just want to take it easy and have fun. 2536 Stairs (1267 up and 1267 down). 760 ft. of elevation rise. Average finishing time in past years was 41 minutes, winning time 17 minutes.
The Big Bank - A tour de Stade, Climb the entire stadium! 6054 Stairs (3027 up and 3027 down). 1785 ft. of elevation rise. Average finishing time last year was 54 minutes, winning time 34 minutes.
The Burly Bank - Climb the entire stadium over and over until your calves just can't take it any more during the 5 hours of the event. Must climb the Big Bank completely and then return to the starting point. You can start as early as 7am and the last time through the stadium must be started by 11am and conclude by 12 noon. Your fastest lap will be considered for Big Bank placing. Record is 6 laps through the stadium!
After the race, head up to the beautiful TCF Bank Club Room for a post race reception. Look out from the best seats in the house and see your face on the famous TCF Bank Scoreboard! All participants will take home a performance jersey. Extra jerseys can be purchased on the day of the event for $30 while supplies last.

Kidney Cancer Experts from the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Institute will be on hand with information about kidney cancer, current projects that have been funded by you, nutrition and other resources. 100% of Net Proceeds go to fund Kidney Cancer Research at the University of Minnesota.

Events may be delayed, shortened or in rare circumstances cancelled, due to inclement weather. This includes lightening, wind, heat, snow, or the threat of imminent severe weather that may harm or injure participants, staff, set up crew and bystanders. Event time frame includes setup, race and teardown. All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website and social media. No refunds or transfers allowed.
